For many years, I’ve written and published exclusively in Spanish. It’s my native language, the one that shaped my thoughts and has been with me since I first learned to read. It’s the language I grew up with, dreamed in, fell in love with stories through… and eventually, the one I started writing my own stories in.
But for a while now, there’s been a quiet pull inside me, a growing desire to share my novels with readers who don’t speak Spanish, but who love romance just as much as you and I do. Women in other parts of the world who are drawn to passionate characters, real emotions, and stories that stay with them. Women who might find comfort, inspiration, or simply good company in the pages of my books.
Making this decision wasn’t easy. Translating isn’t just about switching languages, it’s about carrying the soul of a story across borders without losing its heart. But it’s also an act of generosity and faith. Generosity, because it opens the door to new readers. Faith, because I trust that my characters can still touch hearts, even in a different tongue.
I know it’s a challenge. It’s not easy. I don’t know if I’ll be successful, or if my stories will be read, or liked, or embraced. But I’m giving it a try with an open heart, a hopeful spirit, and a deep love for what I do. I believe in stories, and in the quiet magic they hold, even when they travel far from where they were first written.
So today, I’m happy (and a little nervous) to share that I’ve started publishing in English and Portuguese. It’s a big step for me, a way to grow as a writer and build bridges across languages and cultures. I don’t know exactly where this path will lead, but I’m walking it with care, with love, and with the same passion that has guided every story I’ve written.
Thank you for being here.
Warmly,

Mary Heathcliff
